Ladies and Gentlemen!

Dear Collegues!

I would like to kindly invite you to participate in the fourth edition of Poznań Vetetrinary Forum. The main topic of this conference is focused on advances in management of swine and cattle herds’ health, which enables maximisation of productivity and increase of farms competitiveness.

The list of organizers comprises among others the Institute of Veterinary at Poznań University of Life Sciences, Wielkopolski Provincial Veterinary Inspector, Polish Society of Veterinary Sciences – Wielkopolski Division, and company BASKO Aleksander Skoracki.

The scope of the duties of veterinarians taking care of cattle and swine herds significantly changed in the past decades. The current trends developed by veterinarians and farmers have led not only towards achievement of the highest possible health status of individual animals but also towards constant maintenance of the high health status of the herds. Healthy herd guarantees high productivity and competitiveness of the farm on the global market. The programme of this edition of Poznań Veterinary Forum was specifically developed to give the participants an overview of recent advances in scientific research presented during lectures, and to up-date the methods and practical interventions during workshops. Invited speakers will present current data concerning emerging health problems in swine and bovine herds pointing out these aspects which must be mentioned in direct communication with animal owners. Poznań Veterinary Forum gives an exceptional chance to participate in lectures given by the world class specialists working on hot topics in swine and bovine production. Many of them will visit Poland for the first time. The following speakers confirmed their presence in this year’s Forum: Laura Batista (Canada/Mexico), Marek Gehrke (Poland), Martina Hoedemaker (Germany), Jędrzej Jaśkowski (Poland), Tommy van Limbergen (Belgium), Dominik Maes (Belgium), Rolf Mansfeld (Germany), Tanja Opriessnig (Scotland /USA), Zygmunt Pejsak (Poland), Tomasz Stadejek (Poalnd), Cinta Prieto Suárez (Spain), Kyoung Jin Yoon (USA).

During our Forum the topics concerning each animal species will be presented within two days – one day of lectures and one day of workshops. The exact days of events for each animal species are as follows:

19.03.2015  – swine workshop

20.03.2015  – swine lectures

21.03.2015  – bovine lectures

22.03.2015  – bovine workshops

Aside from interesting scientific programme we have also prepared exciting social events in order to give you an extraordinary chance to meet and integrate with colleagues from other countries. Coffee breaks and the social event will allow you to discuss the current problems in every-day practice, to make new friends and solve own doubts. All lectures will be simultaneously translated from Polish into English or from English into Polish languages. Lectures will take place in facilities of the Conference and Training Centre "BIOCENTRUM” at Poznań University of Life Science.

Poznań Veterinary Forum gives also an extraordinary chance for exhibitors to present their companies, to invite important clients and to increase the awareness of theirs companies among potential clients. During the lecture days (20th and 21st of March) all the stands will be located in hall of "BIOCENTRUM" in a close proximity of the conference room.

We would like to wish all the participants many new insights for their every-day clinical practice, interesting discussions and sufficient amount of time for free talks during breaks and gala dinner.

We kindly encourage you to visit Poznań and actively participate in this year’s edition of the Forum. We hope that our scientific programme will meet your expectations, and that the presented achievements in the field of diagnostics, prevention and treatment of these farm animal species will turn out to be useful in your every-day field practice.

                                                                                                              With kind regards

On behalf of the organising committee
